Celebrate Residents with Gold Foundation and Thalamus on Thank a Resident Day, February 28!

Thalamus is thrilled to partner with The Arnold P. Gold Foundation to support Thank a Resident Day, an annual event created by the Gold Humanism Honor Society. This year’s celebration will be on Friday, February 28th – mark your calendars!

This day holds special significance for Thalamus as we support the journey of trainees through important transitions in their medical careers. Residents are the future of healthcare, and their dedication deserves recognition. Thank a Resident Day is an opportunity to express gratitude for their hard work, resilience, and compassion.

Sign up your program/institution for Thank a Resident Day and celebrate alongside the GME community!

The Gold Foundation also offers free Thank a Resident Day stickers to help you celebrate. Request them by Friday, January 24 to ensure your program/institution receives them.

We encourage you to host activities to celebrate your residents (and fellows), to share your appreciation including:

  • Public Recognition whether on social media and/or personalized notes.
  • Tokens of appreciation including thoughtful gifts, cards or wellness kits.
  • Special gatherings at breakfast, lunch or happy hours.
  • Attending coverage allowing residents some extra time off
  • Or whatever other imaginative ideas you can think of!

In addition, please consider joining Thalamus at the Gold Foundation’s upcoming Gold Humanism Summit – September 17-20, 2025 in Baltimore, MD. Early bird registration is happening now – register here.

Join us in showing gratitude and celebrating the incredible contributions of residents and fellows on this meaningful day!
